Master cobbler Ville’s team in Helsinki replaces the cork footbeds of Birkenstock sandals with entirely new ones. This service is suitable for sandals where the cork is so worn, split, or cracked that a standard resoling is no longer sufficient. The price is €69.90, which includes new cork footbeds, new outsoles, and strap conditioning.

What is included in the price?

• New cork soles
• 8 mm thick Svig Dogbone rubber sole, black or brown
• Treating the straps with Collonil Organic Care spray

The dogbone base is more durable than the original.

Svig Dogbone rubber is lightweight and more wear-resistant than Birkenstock's original sole material. Thanks to its tread pattern, it provides good traction on various surfaces.

Treating straps with hemp oil

Collonil Organic Care is a non-toxic, hemp oil-based care spray that conditions and protects the leather of the straps.

Cork sole replacement or just resoling?

If the cork is intact and only the tread is worn, simply resoling the sandals is sufficient. If the cork is cracked, crumbling, or compressed, it is best to replace the cork sole. Previously, nothing could be done about cracked cork, but now the sandals can be restored to a usable condition.

How to send sandals for repair by mail

1. Place an order in the online store. Select the location where you want the finished sandals returned as the delivery address.
2. Pack the sandals in a box and include your name, phone number, and order number.
3. Write Posti's return code 648 505 on the box.
4. Take the package to the post office. Shipping is free for you.
5. Your sandals will be repaired as quickly as possible.
6. Pick up the finished sandals from the post office or a parcel locker.
