Product descriptionIncludes, if necessary, changing the stone shore.
The midsoles of hiking shoes (such as Lowa, Meindl, Hanwag) are often made of polyurethane, which becomes brittle over time. This is due to a phenomenon called hydrolysis, where moisture reacts with polyurethane, forming acidic compounds that corrode the soles. When the shoes are used, the movement of the sole generates heat, evaporating moisture. Hydrolysis becomes a problem if the shoes are stored unused for extended periods. The degradation cannot be stopped, and the soles must be completely replaced.
At Master Cobbler Ville's, you can resole your hiking shoes with Vibram soles. The new soles belong to the Vibram Foura collection, with an outer surface made of XS Trek rubber. It provides excellent grip and durability, especially for outdoor use. It also offers good traction on wet surfaces, such as rocks.
