High-quality, leather-soled shoes are an investment in style and comfort. However, the leather sole is the part of the shoe subjected to the harshest wear. Weather conditions such as moisture, puddles, and road salt wear down and damage the sole leather, making it soft, brittle, and prone to rapid deterioration.
Saphir Medaille d'Or Sole Guard is the professional-grade solution to this challenge. This luxurious, 100% plant-based protective oil is designed to absorb into the leather sole, creating a durable barrier. It not only prevents water from being absorbed into the sole but also nourishes the leather, keeping it flexible and preventing it from drying out and cracking.
Why is Saphir Sole Guard essential?
Extends Lifespan: Regular use significantly slows the wear of leather soles and can double their life before needing to be resoled.
Effective Moisture Protection: Effectively impregnates the leather, preventing water and moisture from penetrating through the sole. Your shoes stay dry and maintain their shape.
Nourishes and Conditions: Prevents the leather sole from drying out, hardening, and cracking, thereby preserving its natural flexibility.
Prevents Salt Stains: Provides an effective barrier against winter road salt, which can permanently damage leather.
100% Plant-Based: A safe and natural formula that conditions the leather in the best possible way, without any harmful solvents.
Does Not Make the Sole Slippery: Unlike waxes, the oil is fully absorbed into the leather and does not leave a slippery film on the surface of the sole.
What is it suitable for?
Saphir Sole Guard is designed for all leather outsoles. It is especially important for welted shoes (such as those with a Goodyear welt construction), which have valuable soles where protection is a top priority.
Instructions for Use:
Preparation: Ensure the shoe sole is completely clean and dry. Brush off all loose dirt, sand, and dust.
Application: Apply a thin, even layer of oil with a clean cloth or a small brush over the entire area of the leather sole.
Precision: Avoid getting oil on the shoe's upper leather and especially on the welt stitching that connects the sole to the upper, as the oil could weaken the threads.
Absorption: Let the oil absorb undisturbed for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight. Place the shoes on their sides or on a newspaper while they dry.
Finishing: Wipe off any excess, unabsorbed oil with a cloth.
Repeat: Treat new shoes before their first wear and repeat the treatment regularly, for example, 3-4 times a year or as needed, especially after exposure to wet conditions.
